I like to think of the curiously handsome busboy at the end as one of the two narrators from "The Five Magical Sex Acts Of Cory Kennedy." He just looks the type.
...but does anybody else find it to be really, really, super-duper icky that today's Question Of The Day is "Sponsored By Nissan"?
It doesn't matter that the question has nothing to do with cars or Nissan or whatever; it's just the idea that some massive multinational company with zero impact on my life is somehow "sponsoring" various random details about myself. The association between choosing to write a blog post and somehow needing, or wanting, or even tolerating, the "sponsorship" of a car company to do so is not pleasant. I really don't like that idea at all, and I really wish that little advertising badge would go away.
Vox should really hurry up and offer a $50/year, ad-free option, because I'd take it in a heartbeat.
OK, I don't honestly even really like this design that much, but I've got to keep it at least for a little while, because it has squid in it.
(In case you arrive at this post after I've progressed onward to some other Vox theme... that's what I'm talking about.)
